Ekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk

We suggest a unique Post-Congress Tour to Ekaterinburg & Miass (fall site of the Chelyabinsk meteorite)  & Chelyabinsk  on July 27 – July 31, 2018 (4 days/ 4 nights). The tour includes plane tickets Moscow->Ekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk->Moscow, transportation during the whole tour, accommodation for four nights including breakfast, excursions with an English-speaking guide, one lunch and one more meal out (next to the lake).

Tentative flight schedule for Friday (July 27, 2018): departure from Moscow (SVO) at 17:40, arrival to Ekaterinburg at 22:00 (local time).

Tentative flight schedule for Tuesday (July 31, 2018): departure from Chelyabinsk at 19:40, arrival to Moscow (SVO) at 20:05 (local time).

Ekaterinburg is situated close to the Ural Mountains. Flight duration from Moscow is about 2.5 hours. Local time is UTC+5 (2 hours ahead of Moscow time MSC+2).

TOUR PROGRAM

Night #1 (27/28 July).Arrival from Moscow to the Koltsovo International Airport. Accommodation in the RENOME HOTEL 4* in the  central part of Ekaterinburg for 2 nights (twin/ double occupancy available upon request).

Day #1 (Saturday, 28 July): Visit to Geological Museum of Ekaterinburg. Visit to Museum of Fine Art. Visit to the Europe-Asia Geographical Boundary, city sightseeing tour and visit to the observing deck at the Visotsky skyscraper of Ekaterinburg. Overnight stay in Ekaterinburg. 

Day #2 (Sunday, 29 July):  Visiting the Berezovskiy Gold Mine.  Departure from Ekaterinburg to Miass. Accommodation in Sunny Valley apart hotel in Miass for 2 nights. 

Day #3 (Monday, 30 July):  Visiting of the Mineralogical Museum of the Institute of Mineralogy of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Science and the Ilmen State Reserve, which is famous due to its beautiful scenery and unmatched diversity of minerals. Tour to the city of Chebarkul and Chebarkul Lake, including field trips to the Chelyabinsk meteorite fall site and fish soup on the lakeshore. Overnight stay in Miass. 

Day #4 (Tuesday, 31 July): Arrival to the city of Chelyabinsk, visit to the Chelyabinsk State Museum (Chelyabinsk State University), where the Main Mass of the Chelyabinsk meteorite is deposited. Flight back to Moscow from Chelyabinsk International Airport. 

Program of visit is preliminary. This Tour will be realized under condition of a minimum number of participants: 10 persons.
