Ekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk

Participants plan to go to Ekaterinburg July 27, night.

From July, 28 to July, 31 (4 days, 3 nights) we offer a visit to Ekaterinburg city and the fall site of the Chelyabinsk meteorite.

Ekaterinburg is situated close to the Ural Mountains. Flight duration from Moscow is about 2.5 hours. Local time is UTC+5 (2 hours ahead of Moscow time MSC+2).

Day 1. City sightseeing tour of Ekaterinburg, including visit to the Europe-Asia Geographical Boundary. Accommodation in the central part of Ekaterinburg (single / double).

Day 2. Visiting the Berezovskiy Gold Mine and Crocoite room. Departure from Ekaterinburg to Miass. Accommodation in Miass (http://sunny-valley.su/ (in Russian)).

Day 3. Visiting of the Ilmen State Reserve (http://igz.ilmeny.ac.ru/Default.asp), which is famous due to its beautiful scenery and unmatched diversity of minerals. Tour to the city of Chebarkul and Chebarkul Lake, including field trips to the Chelyabinsk meteorite fall site and fish soup on the lakeshore. Overnight stay in Miass.

Day 4. Arrival to the city of Chelyabinsk, visit to the Chelyabinsk State Museum, where the Main Mass of the Chelyabinsk meteorite is deposited. Departure from Chelyabinsk to Koltsovo International Airport (http://www.koltsovo.ru/en/). Flight to Moscow (or abroad). If you like, you can return to Moscow by the Trans-Siberian Railway, which takes ~25 hours.


Total cost of the trip is ~$650 USD.

Program of visit is preliminary. Minimal group for trip to be provided is 10 persons.
